| Submission Process |
The editors at San Francisco Edit are Ph.D. scientists
with considerable experience in writing and editing
manuscripts submitted for publication in peer-reviewed
journals. Our editors will edit and polish your manuscript
as needed so it presents your research in the best
possible manner. This includes correcting the English,
style, vocabulary, and flow, and ensuring that it
meets the guidelines of the targeted journal. We edit in both US and UK English. We also
make comments and suggestions regarding aspects of
the manuscript that need improvement.

| Submission Procedures |
Manuscripts sent to San Francisco Edit need to
be completed by the author in English in a format
that is ready for submission to the intended journal
or grant review board.
For complicated jobs, you'll probably want to work
with the managing editor through phone or e-mail discussions.
For most jobs, though, you can simply e-mail the work
with instructions. The managing editor will take it
from there.
The fastest and most effective way of sending and
receiving documents is electronically as a Microsoft
Word email attachment to editor@sfedit.net.
In addition, the following information should be included:
- Name and email address of person submitting manuscript.
- Complete business address including telephone and fax numbers of the person submitting the manuscript.
- A second email address or an email
address of another author. This is to ensure
you receive the edited manuscript. There
have been problems due to some authors'
email.
- If the manuscript is intended for
publication, the targeted journal and the
society publishing the journal. If you
are not targeting a specific journal, we
will edit the manuscript using general
acceptable rules.
- If you are able, please include the
references. It helps us in editing
your manuscript.
- If you are able, please include the
figures and tables. It helps us in editing
your manuscript. Please let us know if you
want us to include them in the edit. We can
ensure they meet the guidelines of the
journal and conform to your manuscript. If
you do not want them edited, we will only use
them as a reference.
- If you have already submitted your
manuscript to a journal, please send us the
reviewer's comments. It will help us in
editing your manuscript. We can ensure
that your manuscript addresses all of their
suggestions. There is no extra cost to
review their suggestions. Also, if you
have a response letter to the reviewers, we
can edit the letter and ensure the letter
corresponds to the edited changes made in
the manuscript. The cost to edit the letter
will be included in the quote.
- Other pertinent information we should know to
edit your manuscript to your satisfaction.
To save you money we do not edit the references or title
page unless you request it.
Once we have received the documents we will contact
you to confirm receipt of the manuscript,
which will include a quote. We usually
complete the editing of a manuscript
in 6-8 days from the acceptance of the quote;
3-4 days for rush jobs.
The process of working with San Francisco Edit is always
simple but varies slightly depending on the type of
work you are requesting.
In general, you make a request or submit a document
by email as an attachment. We acknowledge your request
by email and either ask for additional information and
provide a quote and delivery time.
If you accept the quote and delivery time, you reply
with an email authorizing us to proceed with the work.

Most of our work is done in Microsoft Word,
either for Windows or for Macintosh.
One advantage of using Microsoft Word for editing
is that changes can be shown using the revisions, or
track changes, feature. This shows removed material
and added material in different formats and colors.
The revisions feature offers several ways for you to
review and accept changes.
Other formats will also be accepted so please contact
us for more information or any queries you may have.
